HEMP – NEW QUALITY AT HSCPH

At HSCPH, we believe in materials with purpose - materials that do more than look good. They carry strength, responsibility, longevity, and comfort.

All our fabrics are carefully selected with intention. Instead of designing new styles first and then searching for a fabric that could work - like many in the industry - we do the opposite. We work within a few carefully selected materials, each aligned with our standards, vision, and values. From that foundation, we design.

Hemp is the newest addition to the HSCPH universe and has now become one of the few materials we choose to work with. It is a quality that has been highly requested across our markets worldwide, as many were looking for another strong fabric, they could rely on for the perfect summer wardrobe. After searching for the best possible options, hemp is now proudly part of the HSCPH family. As one of nature’s strongest natural fibers and one of the most responsible choices in textile production, it reflects the values that define our approach.

Grown by nature

Hemp is one of the most responsible choices in textile production. The plant requires significantly less water than many conventional fibers and grows quickly. It thrives without pesticides and is naturally resistant to insects and mold, reducing the need for chemical treatment. Resilient by nature, hemp adapts easily to different climates and grows with minimal intervention.

Another remarkable quality of hemp is that the entire plant can be used. While some fibers are used for textiles, other parts of the plant can be transformed into building materials or food products. Hemp seeds, in particular, are known as a superfood, valued for their high content of nutrients, protein, and healthy fatty acids.

From the very beginning, hemp is a strong and resource-efficient fiber where the entire plant is used.

Nature’s strength

Hemp is one of the strongest natural fibers in the world. Its long fibers create exceptional durability - stronger than linen and many other common textiles. Historically, hemp was used for ropes, sails, and canvas because it could handle tension and use.

In our collections, that natural strength is refined into modern, relaxed designs for everyday living. The fabric maintains its structure while feeling natural and easy to wear.

Even though hemp is strong, it becomes softer over time. With every wash and wear, the fabric relaxes. The creases are softer than linen, and even body warmth helps the fibers loosen while worn. It drapes well, holds its shape, and develops character instead of wearing out.

Natural qualities

Its natural qualities include:

  • Exceptional strength and durability
  • Antibacterial properties - resistant to odor, bacteria, mold, and mildew
  • Moisture-wicking performance - comfortable in warm and humid climates
  • Biodegradability - both linen and hemp are biodegradable, though hemp breaks down faster and more completely in nature

Comfort in every thread

Hemp is a light fabric that moves naturally with the body. It feels relaxed, easy, and comfortable to wear.

Thanks to its breathable and temperature-regulating qualities, it is especially well suited for warm and humid climates. The fabric allows air to circulate while helping to move moisture away from the body and release it quickly. The result is a dry, balanced feel - even in higher temperatures.

Comfort, however, is not only about climate, but also about how a fabric feels. Many people have experienced how linen can sometimes feel slightly scratchy, and no matter how much it is washed or worn, it often remains that way. That is exactly what we aim to avoid.

With hemp, the experience is different. The fabric is strong yet soft, and it gradually becomes softer with use while maintaining its structure. Hemp does not lose its quality over time - it improves.

Hemp is a long-term investment in comfort - a fabric that stays strong, keeps its shape, and feels even better with time.

A collection built on balance

Built on 100% pure natural hemp as its foundation, the collection reflects the material’s unique qualities across designs that emphasize everyday luxury and comfort.

Working from a strong material base allows fabric and design to remain closely connected. The structure, weight, and movement of hemp naturally influence the silhouettes we create and the details we refine. The result is clothing that feels balanced, intentional, and easy to wear.

Hemp is characterized by its slightly raw surface, giving the fabric a distinct expression. There is depth in the texture - honest and understated - adding exclusivity and character to each design.

The outcome is a considered collection where aesthetics, function, and responsibility exist in balance - our understanding of responsible luxury.

Caring for Hemp

Choosing hemp means choosing longevity. With the right care, it will maintain its strength, shape, and character for years to come.

Washing

Wash at low to moderate temperatures (30–40°C / 86–104°F) using a mild detergent without bleach. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can reduce breathability.

Drying

Air drying is recommended to maintain shape and strength. Avoid wringing the fabric forcefully, as this can damage the fibers. If you tumble dry, use low heat and remove the garment while slightly damp to prevent over-drying and shrinkage. Hang or lay flat to reduce creasing.

Ironing

Iron at medium to high heat, preferably while the fabric is slightly damp. Use steam to smooth wrinkles effectively. If you prefer to skip ironing, simply scrunch the fabric gently after drying to create a softer, more relaxed look.

Development Over Time

Hemp becomes softer and more comfortable with each wash and wear - without losing its strength. Over time, the fabric develops a natural patina that enhances its character and depth.
