Growing Up is roomy loose-fitting clothing with a casual look and soft elasticated waistbands so there's nothing tight. The clothes are designed with the same roomy and casual look in all sizes. You can choose whether you want trousers and jumpsuits with or without ribbing depending on what you think works best.

We have chosen to divide our sizes into 3 groups. BABY, TODDLER and CHILD. This makes it easier for you to find the models available in your child's size and relate to the pictures, as there is a big difference between pictures of the same model in sizes 3M and 6 YEARS.

The collection is designed so that you buy the clothes in the size that corresponds to your child's age, with room to grow. However, children are different, so these are average measurements.
Through thorough studies of children's heights in Northern Europe, we have worked out the measurements of our patterns. When looking at children's growth curves, there are typically 3 curves that cover the average, above and below. Growing Up lies between the average and the high growth rate.

Children's growth periods vary from child to child, but on average the jump from 3 months to 6months is roughly the same as from 1½ years to 2 years and 4years to 5years with a relatively small margin. We have therefore chosen to have the same fixed gap between all sizes. The sizes we have chosen to offer Growing Up in are based on the child growing by 6 cm between each size.
We hope this makes it easy for you to find the right size for your child.

FLEECE 70% POLYESTER, 30% VISCOSE

Most fleece materials are made from 100% polyester, whereas ours only contain 70%. Polyester has several sought-after qualities: It is durable, holds its shape well, and has great color stability. We have taken it a step further as we, aside from choosing the best quality polyester that’s free from heavy metals, also have chosen that 50-70% of the fibres are recycled.

The remaining 30% consists of viscose, which ensures an airier and more breathable fleece material. We have selected a sustainable viscose product, where all trees are replanted, pesticides are not permitted. We recommend that you wash your fleece before using it, as production dust is common, which is particularly visible on a lighter or darker colour.

As with most textiles, you might experience a slight change in the overall look of your style after the first wash. Hereafter it will keep its shape, color, and softness – wash after wash. We recommend hanging the clothes to dry on a hanger instead of tumble drying them. This ensures less wear on the garment as well as energy savings

We use the same quality fleece for all our brands; Henriette Steffensen Copenhagen, Carl by Steffensen, and Growing Up by Steffensen. The fleece material is produced in carefully selected factories in Italy and the cutting and sewing of the material are carried out in Lithuania. HSCPH’s fleece designs are thereby 100% European produced and certified under OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 cert. no. 2176-347 DTI.
